Appointments

We run all our surgeries by an appointment-only system. We do not offer a ‘drop-in’ service – patients turning up unannounced, without an appointment, will NOT be seen, but will be asked to make an appointment like all our other patients. Appointments can be booked by telephoning or visiting reception in person.

Routine appointments with the doctor or nurse can be made up to one month in advance.

Same day appointments – if you wish to be seen on the same day, please telephone when surgery opens at 8.30am. Every day, we have at least 7 free appointment slots available (for both morning & evening surgeries) – however, these tend to go quickly (we are a busy practice!), so phone at 8.30am. Do not wait, as they are usually all gone by 9am.

Requests for home visits should made before 10am. They are only for patients genuinely too ill to come to the surgery and are at the doctor’s discretion. Home visits take up much more of a doctor’s time than a consultation in the surgery and have a major impact on the smooth running of the surgery, especially as Knights Surgery has just two doctors. Examining patients at home is often much less satisfactory, as certain equipment is only available in the surgery. Coming to the surgery often means you will be seen much sooner in the day, as home visits are delayed until after morning surgery. We can arrange for patients too ill to wait in the waiting room to be seen on arrival.
