Patient rights and responsibilities

Please inform reception of any change of name, address or new telephone number.
Remember to cancel any appointment with the doctor or nurse if you are no longer able to attend.
Try not to save up all your problems for one appointment.

Consider seeing the nurse for conditions she can manage – if she feels you need to see the doctor she will arrange this.
Don’t forget others, such as pharmacists and NHS Direct, are also available to give advice on health matters.

Please make one appointment per person. A doctor cannot see a whole family in one 10-minute consultation!
Examination and treatment facilities are better at the surgery, please do not ask for a home visit unless absolutely necessary for medical reasons.

Don’t see your GP for dental problems – see your dentist. If you do not have one, call NHS Direct for details of emergency dentists.
